This week on TALK! with AUDREY: PAUL SCHULTE, World Champion and Paralympic Medalist in Basketball, joins me LIVE from Denver, CO – site of the Wheelchair Basketball Championships For the almost 100 million disabled individuals and seniors in this country, even “ordinary” tasks like caring for children, driving a car, or going to work can require extraordinary effort – yet few people are aware of these everyday struggles and achievements.
One man who truly embodies this spirit is Paul Schulte. Injured in a car accident when he was 10 years old he loss the use of his legs and has been wheelchair bound. He went on to become a World Champion and Paralympic medalist in basketball.
New Campaign Seeks to Empower and Inspire
A new campaign from Invacare seeks to celebrate these amazing life stories of people living with a disability, advanced age or ailment... one video at a time. The Real Life Campaign is looking for people to upload videos detailing their own personal life stories, or those of others, in hopes of teaching and inspiring others. Kicking off on April 4th, at the end of each month, Invacare will select the top three Real Life Stories and award each $3,000 and $6,000 to their charity of their choice. The organization will do this each month until the end of the year. Visit: www.invacare.com/reallife
